About MRC

THE PURPOSE

Commitment to education and service to mankind are the two driving forces behind the creation of the MAILA ROSARIO COLLEGE.

For the founder-owner of the college in the person of the Honorable Mayor Delfin Telan Ting of the City of Tuguegarao, the value of education must be instilled in every youth because truly, “the youths are the hope of the Fatherland and the trustees of the nations tomorrow”. The founder resolutely believes that by putting up a college committed to the pursuit of excellence and service, he shall be able to demonstrate to the people that education is an indispensable partner in the improvement of one’s life and in the prosperity of the nation as a whole.

The founder of the college is a man who had largely been educated and molded not so much of formal schooling but by the challenges of his time. Be as it may, the founder, because of perseverance, is now a living epitome of a man who has successfully realized his potentials, his existence. Reaching this far, the founder still does not advocate anyone to cease from schooling or to sacrifice it, whatever stake. He advocates that one must really  complete the ladder of education in order to have better chances in life.

Service to mankind is another motivation behind the foundation of this college. This takes the form of affordable and quality education that is being offered by the institution. Education being a right must be made accessible to everyone, and this is a vow the college shall make for as long as it exists.

THE NAME OF THE COLLEGE

Maila Rosario College is named after the founder’s only daughter, Maila Rosario Ting – Que. Maila Rosario literally means “my rose”. There is a special citation of the rose flower for the main reason that for the chinese people, rose is a precious and valuable flower.

THE COLLEGE SEAL

The college seal presents the totality of the school’s principles and convictions. It speaks of what this institution stands for, what the college is, and the telos of its existence. Each of the different entities found on the seal has a definite meaning to express:

  1. TORCH. The torch symbolizes the commitment of this college to education. It views education as an indispensable legacy to everyone aiming for better life and better future.
  2. LAUREL LEAVES. The leaves symbolize a crown. And clearly, a crown means an honor. The college advocates all MRClans to live according to the virtues of integrity & honor at all times and in all spheres of MRCian life.
  3. ROSE FLOWER. This is a precious flower in China. The college has been created for the most precious reasons: the interest of the studentry and the youth, the community, and the country.
  4. PAGGIYAMMU, PASSERVI, INNAMMU. The passage stated in the Ybanag language simply to impart a valuable phase of the Cagayano history, i.e. “that at the outset, Cagayan was for the Ybanags.” At present however, Cagayan is no longer a home only for the Ybanags. Such a promising land, Cagayan is now the home of a thousand diverse populate from all over the Philippines. These words represent the 3 core-values of MRC: as a passage, it means “knowledge & learning for service”.

THE COLLEGE COLORS

  1. Orange symbolizes flame and spirit. It refers to the courage and the guts ingrained in every MRCian. These are values necessary in making every dream a reality.
  2. Green symbolizes hope. Every MRCian is expected to be proactive, never losing hope and always on the go as they continuously seek for the realization of their lives and for excellence.
